Comparison
MenuToPay vs DotPe
DotPe offers QR ordering and digital storefronts with a free-to-start, commission-based model. The core difference from MenuToPay is the pricing structure itself: a percentage of every order versus one flat monthly fee.
| MenuToPay | DotPe | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Flat monthly plan — same price regardless of how much you sell | Free to start; commonly reported at 1–3% commission per order processed |
| Cost at ₹1 lakh/month in orders | ₹999–2,999/month depending on plan — fixed | Commonly reported around ₹2,000–3,000/month in commission at that volume, and rises with sales |
| How diners pay | Direct to your own UPI ID — no gateway or intermediary | Check current settlement terms with the vendor |
| Kitchen Display System | Included on every plan, with custom station routing | Confirm current KDS availability directly with the vendor |
| GST invoicing | Included — FY-numbered, CGST/SGST split, HSN/SAC | Confirm current invoicing features directly with the vendor |
| Cost as you grow | Predictable — upgrade plans by location count, not by revenue | Scales with revenue, since it's commission-based |

Why restaurants switch
What owners tell us matters most
- A flat fee means your software cost doesn't grow every time your sales do
- No commission on any order, ever — the money goes straight to your bank account
- A live Kitchen Display System included from the first rupee, not a separate concern
- GST-compliant invoicing built in for every closed table
Questions about switching
Is DotPe's commission worth it for a small restaurant?
It depends entirely on your order volume — a percentage-of-sales model can be cheap at low volume and expensive as you grow. Run your own numbers: multiply your typical monthly QR-order revenue by the commission rate you're quoted, and compare that to a flat monthly plan.
Does MenuToPay take any commission at all?
No. MenuToPay charges only the plan subscription — diners pay your UPI ID directly and the money reaches your bank with no cut taken by us, regardless of your order volume.
Which is better for a growing restaurant?
If you expect order volume to grow, a flat monthly plan becomes relatively cheaper over time compared to a commission model, since the software cost doesn't scale with revenue.
